The Role

Communication is an integral part of a successful summer. Students study in the UK with their parents remaining overseas, being able to represent the dynamic course content through our online communication channels, helps students get excited for their upcoming experience and keeps parents updated and assured while their children are away from home.

The ability to capture the essence of summer school through news updates, summer blog, photography, video and social media ensures the SBC summer is shared around the world and lives on year-round.

As a Content Creator, you’ll move between our summer sites in a non-obtrusive manner to capture the natural essence of the summer experience while also possessing the ability to engage with students and make them feel at ease to secure the summer content communicated from our Marketing Department.

RemunerationPaid weekly, one week in arrears. The weekly rate received for the Content Creator is £560 PLUS any accrued holiday to be paid at the end of contract)* Food and accommodation are included for all residential SBC staff.

Working Hours: A normal working week for the Content Creator will consist of up to 50 hours per week over six working days.

Main Duties:

  • Capture lessons, activities (onsite and offsite), excursions, accommodation, big group and classrooms for social media and the blog.
  • Capture the summer school experience through the lens, and produce high-quality video to be used on social media, blogs and across other marketing channels.
  • Capture case studies of students and staff, organise interviews and images, film video interviews, write up transcripts and add appropriate quotes, images, videos on social media and the blog as well as build up a bank of case studies/ testimonials to use throughout the year.
  • Edit video footage to create engaging social media content for Instagram and TikTok throughout the summer and beyond
  • Drive student/staff social engagement over the Summer.
  • Travel to allSBC campus locations around the UK on excursions with the students and document their experiences.
  • Manage time sufficiently to produce quality written content each day to document the Summer School experience that we can share with the parents of children attending the school and publicly to new families to support the increase of engagement and support SEO.
  • Send images, videos, blog articles and case studies to Head Office (via One Drive or using another safe File Sharing method as agreed with Head Office).
  • Be proactive, take initiative and control of the daily schedule, understand changes and challenges which may mean things change and adapt to these, i.e. the weather
  • Be the main point of contact for and support the onsite Campus Photographers an videographers communicating anything necessary to the Head of Marketing.
  • Travel to other school campus locations to support the gathering and generating of social media content so that we can showcase the various locations, activities and age ranges across our offering.

About You

We expect all staff to take control of students and to manage discipline and behavioural issues in a firm, positive and constructive manner.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential

  • Confident to take charge of situations and set up shots, interviews and social media content videos
  • Video editing experience
  • Works well under pressure and is adaptable
  • Can multi-task and is good at their own time management
  • Professional Social Media experience
  • Proven ability to write articles and posts

Desirable

•             Experience working with young people

•             Experience working in a school, summer school or similar environment

•             Experience of the UK boarding environment

•             Experience working within the education sector

  • You will be asked to state that you have no known reason why you cannot work with children
  • Official identification and certificates will be required for our records
